Effective:
Who operates this app
Live Stream Now is an Android streaming and recording app developed by RookDevStudio. This policy describes the current app and its information pages. Contact rookdevstudio@gmail.com for privacy questions or data requests.
Camera, microphone and screen capture
The app uses camera, microphone or screen content for sessions you deliberately start and approve through Android. Media is encoded on your device. Live audio and video are sent to the streaming destination you select; local recording saves an MP4. Full-screen sharing can include notifications, other apps and private content. Single-app capture depends on Android/device support and your system selection. Floating controls require a separate Display over other apps permission. The idle shortcut does not start capture.
Optional Google and YouTube connection
Google sign-in provides your account name, email and profile information. With a separate youtube.readonly permission, the app reads your channel name, ID, handle, thumbnail, subscriber/video counts, live events and the selected event’s streaming details. It uses these details to show your connection, import an existing destination and display available live metrics. The current integration does not create events, post chat messages or change your channel. Google handles its sign-in UI; RookDevStudio does not receive your Google password.
Credentials and local storage
Google access tokens, optional API keys and session stream keys are held in Android/session memory rather than saved by the app in preferences, logs or backups. Google Play services manages its own account authorization. Preferences, project details and destination names/server addresses are stored locally. JSON backups exclude MP4s, access tokens and stream keys. Channel thumbnails are requested from Google image servers, which receive the normal network request information.
Retention and deletion
Stop a session to end capture. Disconnect stats stops metric polling. Google & YouTube → Disconnect Google clears the app’s connected account/channel details and imported destination, and requests Google access revocation. If revocation fails, remove access in Google Account connections. Transient API data is not retained as an app-side account archive. To delete app preferences/project data, use Android app storage → Clear storage or uninstall. App-owned recovery recordings are removed on uninstall; Gallery copies in Movies/LiveStreamNow, exported MP4s and backup JSON files remain until you delete them separately. Removing app data does not delete content held by YouTube or another provider; use that provider’s controls.
Privacy requests and choices
You can use local recording without connecting Google. Decline optional permissions or revoke them in Android settings. For help removing information you sent to support, email rookdevstudio@gmail.com with the subject “Live Stream Now data request”. Include only what is needed to identify your request; never include passwords, tokens or stream keys. We use support messages to respond and retain them only as needed for the issue and any applicable obligations.
Ads, analytics and website hosting
The current app includes no advertising or analytics SDK and does not sell personal information. This website does not ask you to create an account and includes no analytics or advertising scripts. Its hosting provider may process ordinary access/security logs. The site stores only your selected display theme in browser local storage; clear site data to remove it. Clicking an email link opens your email app and sends only what you choose to send.
Children and recording others
The app is a general-purpose creator tool and is not directed to children. You must meet the age requirements of your streaming provider and applicable law. Get permission before recording or broadcasting other people, especially children, and avoid sharing sensitive information.
Updates and third-party policies
This policy is updated when app practices change. The effective date appears on this page. Google, YouTube, your streaming platform, email service and website host have their own policies. Review the linked Google Privacy Policy, YouTube Terms and Google account access controls below.
